In the year 2003, a man near his sixties had died of heroin overdose in Ocean County. According to the reports, he had been supplied the drug by a friend who was held in the State Supreme Court for questioning and then slapped with several charges. In the same year, the grand jury of Ocean County had indicted to people for overdosing a man to death with heroin in 2002. Again, in the same 2003, in Roselle a heroin extraction lab was discovered. The lab was capable of processing some 10 kg of heroin. The health consequences that are associated with the abuse of heroin have been found to be much worse than any other that is popularly used in the state. The number of treatment admissions related to heroin addiction has significantly increased and it has also been found out that addicts in New Jersey are resorting more to Heroin than any other drug or even alcohol for that matter.
